To our Marching Band families:
Thank you for joining us at our Annual Viking Marching Band potluck and show reveal. If you have photos to share, please add them to our Flickr Drive, which streams into our website. Email us at samohiband@gmail.com to get the login and password.
As a reminder, marching band practices start tomorrow Wednesday, August 23rd. Students need to be on the field with their instruments ready to practice at 7 a.m. sharp. We have a 7-9 rehearsal every late start day, until after we are done with our competitive season in mid-November.
This week afternoon practice will be on Thursday 5 – 8 p.m. Students should arrive with Viking rehearsal shirt, athletic shorts/pants, athletic shoes. New members will receive their Performance (“football/retro”) shirt on Thursday, too. Click on the text for more information about: casual uniform shirts.
On Friday students should make it to the JAMS grass area across from SMC Corsair Stadium no later than 5.45 p.m Ready to Go: Blue Jeans/dark pants, Performance/football shirt, athletic shoes and band jacket (jackets optional in warm weather). Please make sure your student’s jacket is properly labeled to avoid mix-ups.
Remember students with large instruments that are transported on the trailer must return to Samohi after the game to unload their gear. All parents are welcome to join the band in the stands at SMC for the 7 p.m. game. Tickets are cash only at the gate.
