Dear Parents,

Our Viking Marching Band and Color Guard Season is kicking off on October 21st at the West Ranch Field Show in Valencia. We hope you’re as excited as our kids and coaching team who have been working so hard for months on this year’s show, EMPOWER!

This year’s registration for parent volunteers and chaperones is now officially open!. From building props to helping with food runs, there’s an opportunity for all parents to support the Viking Band on this year’s effort. You can see open positions and dates available here.

Bus chaperones and Viking Village volunteers are required to have Level II Volunteer Clearance. Make sure your status is current before signing up. You can find instructions to get your clearances here.

For more in depth of the Bus Chaperones roles check this online description, for questions you may contact Lisa Proft at theprofts@hotmail.com

Aside from signing up for volunteering, you can prepare for Marching Band season buying our new EMPOWER! fan t-shirt or gray hoodie. All proceeds benefits the Viking Marching Band. Look for our merchandise booth at SMC football games.

Finally, more great news to share: we are 60% funded for our Marching Band season! We still have ways to go so please consider making a donation if you haven’t already.

Your generous contributions furnish instruments, coaches, uniforms, music arrangements, props and logistics welfare for ALL band members, supporting the Viking Band and the Color Guard from Band Camp in August to the Santa Monica 4th of July Parade. You may pledge a one time donation or a monthly contribution in our website. On behalf of our kids, we thank you.
