SCSBOA Field Show Championships Saturday, Nov. 16

CONGRATULATIONS to the mighty Samohi Viking Marching Band on an amazing season! We are happy to be headed to the SCSBOA Championships this Saturday at Warren High School, which is located at 8141 De Palma St, Downey, CA 90241. See the map.

Schedule Change for Friday

1. Please note that Friday rehearsal has been moved to 4-7:30 pm.
2. From 7-7:30, we will have our final run-through and our annual senior circle. Come watch this fun tradition wherein the VMB seniors sit down and get serenaded by the younger students, who will play the music from “The Bard” just for them!

Note: Although the Samohi varsity football team will be in the playoffs on Friday night (GO VIKINGS!), they do not require the marching band. They will have a deejay playing tunes during the game!

• 9:45 am: Rehearsal begins at Samohi
• 7:14 pm: Vikings’ showtime at Warren High School. If you would like to attend, plan to arrive at least 30-45 minutes beforehand to allow for parking and seating.
• 11 pm: Pick up at Samohi, after truck is unloaded — please ask your student to contact you on the way home

• Water in a reusable container
• Dinkles and black socks
• Royal blue practice shirt and shorts/leggings
• School work/reading books for downtime
• Warm clothes/jacket to change into after the performance
• Portable phone charger if you have one

• Drive out to watch the competition! Our kids’ show time is 7:14 pm. Entrance is $12 per person. Spectator parking is located off of Paramount Blvd. (see map)
• Cheer with your Viking Parents Tribe! Join the crowd of blue and gold in the stands!
