Join us Tuesday, February 11, 2020, for the 8th annual Bands at the Broad benefit concert and silent auction, supporting the Samohi Concert Band tour scholarship fund. Mix and mingle over a cash wine bar and cupcakes in the elegant lobby and enjoy a concert featuring the Samohi Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble.
This year, we are happy to welcome special guests Salvador Munoz and the Lincoln Middle School Wind Symphony, who will join us at the Broad for a send-off performance before they go to CASMEC on February 20 — they were the only middle-school band selected to perform!
After all three bands play, guests will be treated to special combined performance of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, celebrating 140 years since its premiere.

ABOUT THE EVENT
Now in its 8th year, Bands at the Broad raises much-needed scholarship funds for our high-school musicians to go on tours, where they perform, engage in cultural exchange, and visit historical sites in new cities. This enriching program would not be possible without the many contributions of our Samohi Band families, both big and small.
In March of 2020, the Samohi Wind Symphony and Chamber Winds will travel to San Francisco and Sonoma to participate in the 8th annual Sonoma Invitational Festival. Over the course of three days, 45 high school ensembles will perform on the Weill Hall stage for a distinguished panel of collegiate adjudicators.
