Welcome to the 2017-2018 Samohi Bands!
Dear Samohi Band Musicians and Families,
Welcome to the Samohi Band 2017-18 season. The and Parents Association and the Band Directors Kevin McKeown and Terry Sakow are looking forward to sharing amazing performances with Band families & friends in the upcoming year. The officers of the Band Parent Organization “SMAPA-Samohi Bands” are already hard at work planning events. To those musicians and families who are entering the Band program for the first time, we extend a special welcome.
To be sure that you receive calendar updates and performance call times throughout the year, please register your contact information with us using the “2017-18 All-Bands Registration Form.”
These forms are a Concert Band homework assignment to be completed by Friday, September 8 for a pass/fail grade. Please complete these forms online. Parents may fill out the form with the help of a volunteer at our Band Parent potluck on Tuesday. If you have difficulty with the online form, printed forms are available from Mr. McKeown and Mr. Sakow. Students may return all donations, purchases, student permission forms and other forms to the directors.
If you have already registered with the Marching Band, you do NOT need to register again online.
The Band Parent Association will kick of the year with a meeting next Tuesday, September 5, at the Moose Lodge. This is a great chance to meet your fellow parents and discuss the upcoming year. This is a potluck, please go to this sign up link today!
For more information about travel, and for the answers to any questions about concert formal wear, concert tickets or anything else related to the Bands, please attend our next meeting on Tuesday September 5 at 7pm at the Moose Lodge.
